Lumar World is a marine provisioning company based in Dubai Investment Park Second, supplying vessels at every major UAE port. We are part of Basiana Group — an Emirati group whose core trades are transport and building materials, both businesses where getting the right thing to the right place on time is the whole job. That heritage is why provisioning suits us. We provision ships — fresh produce, meat and seafood, dairy, dry and canned goods, beverages, bakery and crew-nationality staples — delivered to berth and anchorage in the right condition, at prices that reflect a lean operation rather than a global overhead.
How we got here
Basiana Group was founded in 1970, in the early years of a Dubai that was just beginning its transformation. The opportunity was the city itself — a place building itself from the ground up — and the group grew alongside it in two trades that powered that growth: transport and building materials. Both are businesses where everything depends on getting the right thing to the right place on time. That principle has run through the group for over fifty years, and it remains family-run today.
Lumar World grew out of that foundation in 2019. After decades of moving goods and materials reliably across all emirates, extending that same discipline to provisioning vessels was a natural step: ships calling at UAE ports needed fresh provisions delivered accurately, on schedule, with the cold chain intact — exactly the kind of time-critical delivery the group had always done. From the start, that meant treating a vessel's provisioning list the way the group treats any delivery — as a deadline, not a request.
In 2025 we expanded into our dedicated cold-store facility in Dubai Investment Park Second — purpose-built chiller, freezer and dry storage with our own refrigerated fleet — giving us direct control of the cold chain from goods-inward to the berth.
